Python on OS/2

What is Python?

An interpreted, object oriented, scripting language. See the Python home page to learn more about Python.

Porting to OS/2

I have used Eberhard Mattes' EMX package for all my ports to OS/2. EMX includes the gcc compilers and a runtime environment that emulates most Unix/Posix library APIs. The EMX Runtime package (v0.9d fix03 or later) required to run these ports is available from the Hobbes OS/2 software archive.

Python 2.4.4 port to OS/2

Python 2.4.4 was released on October 18, 2006. (updated 1/01/07)

Python 2.3.5 port to OS/2

Python 2.3.5 was released on January 25, 2005. (updated 04/04/05)

Most credit has to go to the porters of older releases of Python: Jeff Rush (v1.5.2 and earlier - IBM Visual Age C++ compiler) and Andrew Zabolotny (v1.5.2 - EMX+gcc). Without their efforts, I wouldn't have released anything.

Other software I've released
