James Family Newsletter for 1998

Hello all,

Once again, we seek your forgiveness for not corresponding individually as we might, but here's a potted summary by way of atonement.

Aaaahhh .. Another exhilarating year! Well, depends on what you mean by exhilarating! We've all survived in good health, and progressed in many ways. The year past has been filled with work at School, ABS and home, and lots of running around to far-flung activities. We still (as you see, above) live at Wamboin and travel frequently to every corner of Queanbeyan and Canberra, as well as little trips "away".

Jeanne's mum, Lola Leaver, lives in Queanbeyan, only a few minutes from Wamboin, so we see her quite often, and her unit is a popular town-house drop-in for the Three Amigos on their excursions. She has an active social life in Qbn., and gets back to Yenda to see the family and friends there.

Jeanne's brother Frank and family (Auntie Chris, and cousins Wendy and David) live in Yenda town. Frank teaches in Griffith and works the orchard at Yenda. We visit occasionally to keep in touch with the folks.

Robert's sister Kathy Chapman, with Uncle Bob, lives in Glenbrook (Blue Mountains). Cousins Joanne, Rebecca and Chris are grown-up and mobile, currently in Melbourne, Sydney and Glenbrook. That's only about 3:30 hrs from Wamboin, so we are able to visit without too much effort.

Tony James (RJ's brother) and Stephanie live in Orielton Park in Tassie, with children Francis, David, Claire, Ingrid and Genevieve. Robert and Karen visited a couple of years ago while RJ was on a trip running courses for ABS, but we've not been able to return as a family.
