URL3: Lieut. Gen. JL WHITHAM died at Repatriation Hospital in Sydney in 1952 aged 71, served in ACH & SAC in Boer War and commanded a Coy of 12Bn. in the landing on Gallipoli in WW1 returning to Aust. in 1921, recalled from retirement in WW2 and placed in charge of Southern Command.

CSM T BRYANT, 1902 clasp. QSM FE MORRISBY 1902 clasp*, Sergeant G LADE 1902 clasp. Fr.-Sergeant AJ LETTE, 1901 and 1902 clasps. Corporal CR STOREY, * 1901 and 1902 clasps. URL7: Major MORRISBY has [c9.1902] received information that eight members of E Company Third Battalion Commonwealth Horse who were under his command in South Africa have joined the South African Constabulary, two holding the same rank in the latter as they did in the Commonwealth force, namely, Quartermaster Sergeant WITHAM and Sergeant FERGUSON. The others are Corporals DUKE, LITTLE and ARCHER and Troopers TREBOLE, PENNYFATHER and WEBSTER.
