Source:# 1227 family says Wilfred HARPER also known as William HARPER, but his 14.4.1875 birth at Riddells Ck. Vic. is registered as William James HARPER, on the 1903 electoral roll at Riddells Ck. he is William Ernest HARPER while on the 1909 roll William James HARPER, in WW1 he's both Wilfred Ernest and Wilfred Edward HARPER while his death at Mildura Vic. on 4.12.1921 was registered as Wilfred Eric HARPER, photo in WW1 uniform wearing Queen's South Africa Medal ribbon, allocated a soldier settlement block at Red Cliffs but widow (with 8 children under 14) was unable to maintain it after he died.

Africa, hospitalised with mumps at Abbassia 13.3.1916, returned to Aust. from Suez per 'Seang Bee' 29.4.1916, discharged 16.6.1916, died after discharge, 1929 correspondence with Repatriation Dept. Melbourne.
