Canberra is the capital of Australia. It is located in the northern part of the Australian Capital Territory, 300 km southwest of Sydney and 650 km northeast of Melbourne. Canberra has a population of over 320,000. It is one of the world's best known fully-planned cities. It has broad tree-lined streets and impressive public buildings.
