Glisten Subsector

Map of Glisten subsector, c.1107 (image produced by the Galactic 2.4 program written by Jim Vassilakos) The Glisten subsector is an isolated spur of the Imperial xboat network; until 940, it was a backwater for marginal officials of the Imperial bureaucracy. However, in 941, District 268 was opened by decree of Margaret II and Glisten has since served as a base for the colonization of the new territory.

In the years since, the Glisten subsector has emerged in its own right as one of the Marches' major manufacturing centres, containing the two industrial worlds of Aki (2035) and Glisten (2036), and a world on the verge of becoming industrial, Ffudn (2334). Together they produce a vast quantity of products ranging from TL 9 to 15.

Egypt (1737) has been selected for a Ministry of Colonization training base.

Mithras (1932) is the site of an Imperial exile prison; convicted individuals are deported to the world where they begin life anew. Although environmental conditions are harsh, the opportunities on Mithras have made it a showcase of rehabilitation.

The Glisten subsector contains 29 worlds with a population of 4.518 billion. The highest population level is 9, at Aki (2035), Glisten (2036), Crout (2232), and Tirem (2233); the highest tech level is F, at Glisten (2036).
