In August I tripped over to Scotland for a holiday via Friesland and Hong Kong, returning via Bangkok. Here are some of the pictures and story behind the trip. I travelled with my wife, Margaret, sister Judi, and Robert whilst in Scotland. We had a ball and enjoyed every minute of the trip, especially our time in the Netherlands with some very special friends.
Pictures on this page are:
We saw lots and lots of bridges and castles all over the place, almost all in ruins. Whilst in the Netherlands we stayed with the Bosma's who live on a canal, and there is a picture of their grandchildren Clara and Jan paddling in an inflatable raft. I went fishing in the canal and caught six small fish. The Falkirk Wheel is an amazing contraption that replaces about six locks in one swoop. It has two large bins that boats float into and are then transported up or down to the next river level. The boats weigh several tons and are the size of ferry boats. We also visited Glasgow so I have included some pictures. Dr Who fans will recognise the picture of the blue Tardis.
