This table shows the populations of Whinfell, Grayrigg and Selside, based on a variety of sources, including:
  • Censuses of 1841 to 1901;
  • Commercial and trade directories.
I would welcome population details for Grayrigg and Selside from any of the censuses, and any other relevant contributions.

Note that these figures from year to year may not be directly comparable, for example, the Whinfell of 1737 may not be the same as the Whinfell of 1901.
