The image below was sent by an e-mail correspondent with the following explanation:-

"I found the picture on the net about six months back and forget the exact
site I found it at, yet from memory I think it was in an archive from a
maritime museum.  It's a contemporary painting so would be an accurate view
of the Mellish.

It made two voyages to Australia as a convict vessel.  One into Sydney and
about 2 yrs later to VDL. On the VDL voyage, it left Hobart Town and stopped
into Sydney on the way back. The caption on the painting is 'The Mellish
entering Port Jackson (Sydney) so it could be either voyage. I seem to
remember that the painting was dated prior to 1830 so it is probably the
first voyage."
