Welcome to the Anchell Homestead. A sunny corner of sunny Orstralia!
A place to laze around and worship the sun.
(sorry this is large, 53Kbs, but these three were a bit far away!)
Join the locals in the morning ritual! Feel the warmth soak into scaly old skins!
Then come and revel in the closeness and bonding that is the Orstralian way of life.
Follow the Mavis Brampston (may her name be glorified) example on the early television of the sixties;
"Togetherness! Togetherness! There should be more togetherness!"
Snuggle up in the top room
or burrow down in the homestead itself.
Meander down the dirt road to Michelago
(ummm, the photo is taken coming up from Michelago, but it's all in the interests of advertising isn't it?)
then stop to admire the history of the old brickworks. (the kiln anyway!)
And as the sun sinks slowly in the west… hang out for the last rays just before bedtime…
[this sleepy skink is about to go into hibernation. Coming out on very sunny warm autumn days, but then not till late spring. August visitors will probably not see them.]
In 2006: Skinks started to come out into the winter sun from mid August. Just soaking up the sun. By early September they were out and foraging. The large blue tongue was also seen (and very skittish) down below. We had seen it unusually in early winter this year near the rock wall.
