The Soldier Settlers of the 39th Regiment of Foot

Conditions under which Discharges may be obtained1

His Majesty having been pleased to direct that Soldiers may be allowed to purchase or obtain their discharges under certains conditions and limitations, the terms are to be regulated by the following Scale, viz.:

One Year's Pay at Home, and
One and a Half Year's Pay Abroad

* After 21 years' service men qualified for a pension and a passage home if Abroad.
