In
1969 Jennifer shifted from New Zealand to Australia where the landscape
made a deep impression on her. While in Australia she was recognized and
honoured as a youth leader, promising writer and a gifted artist, achieving
the highest possible marks for the state Art exams. Jennifer won prizes,
had her work published, and was an energetic Girl Guide leader. Much of
her spare time was spent in reading all the art books in the library,
making art works, swimming and athletic training - becoming an Australian
state champion athlete. At the age of 17 she returned to New Zealand where
she completed 3 years at Teachers College majoring in Art and Maths and
also completed a third of a degree. In 1977 she married Peter and continued
teaching primary level children for 8 years before having children..After
leaving teaching she worked from home on a range of projects while rearing
3 children and recovering from a number of miscarriages and car accidents.
These projects included starting and supervising a licensed preschool.
During this time she completed a certificate course in Lay Preaching,
and spent 15 years preaching in a variety of places. She wrote songs and
poems, made art works and screen printed items, published 4 books and
jointly owned and operated a printing business, bought and maintained
rental properties, co-ordinated a CWSA group and developed an Art program
for gifted children, bought and maintained rental properties and was on
a number of voluntary committees. She returned to secondary teaching in
1995 teaching Art, visual merchandising, screen-printing and guitar and
completed a Degree in Education (graduating in the top 5%) in 2000. In
2000 she emigrated to Australia where she is still teaching IT. In 2003
as well as teaching, she completed an IT Diploma in multimedia integration
and became president of the ACT branch of the Australian Federation of
University Women. In 2004 she published her 5th book, began two certificate
courses (Screen + Work Place Training and Assessment) and made and exhibited
her first piece of digital Art. She has been a CEGACT,AGQTP, and COACTEA
committee member and continues working on the ACT branch of AFGW as a
comittee member. She continues to create and maintain websites, has started
a post graduate diploma in Theology and is teaching herself Hebrew.
