Lunch at Bungendor and the Bookplates Cafe with our
bursary winners (left) and the annual dinner (middle).Some of our
members supported Thelma as she and her daughter unveiled the plaque
in honour of her late husband George Chippendale, at the Australian
National Botanical Gardens. George and Thelma regularly attend our
monthly breakfasts (right).

The Committee for 2009

January - Lunch at the Cafe Woodworks, situated
in the original 1883 house in the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery complex,
with AFUW-ACT bursary award winner Theresa Petray.
At our Winter luncheon at the Botanical Gardens we celebrated June
Lawrence's birthday. June shared one of her special labeled bottles
of wine with us.

2008

January - Lunch at the War Memorial in Canberra
with AFUW-ACT bursary award winner Susan McMinn.

AFUW ACT Inc celebrated Dr. Gwen Woodroofe's 90th birthday with an at home party. Dr. Fenner and Dr. Jocelyn Eskdale spoke.

AFUW members enjoyed seeing the Tillyard Prize plaques hung in the
Chiefly library at the ANU commemorative cocktail evening.

celebrated our 60th anniversary at University House

presented Helen Blanch with the AFUW Prize at the Burton Revels.

Jenny
Handed over the National President's badge to Rosemary at a dinner
after the Council meeting and our new secretaty, Catherine received
the lamp.
We
had dinner at the national Art gallery with our Bursury winner, JANE
HAVEMANN. Jane is studying for a M.Phil. in New Zealand at the University
of Waikato, Hamilton..
2002
Some
of our Australian members went to Ottawa for the 2001 IFUW Conference.
Congratulations to
Reet Bergman who was presented with a Certificate of Recognition by
Lieutenant-General Peter Cosgrove at the Rotary Dinner to celebrate
the International Year of the Volunteer. Reet was nominated as our
club’s ‘Volunteer’ for her contribution as Treasurer for AFUW-ACT
over many years and also her work with the Estonian community.
We had dinner at
the National Art gallery with our two Bursury winners
Gwen and Janet at the annual AFUW dinner.
