Family history passed down suggests that the Indian sailed from Falmouth, Cornwall on 5 September 1843. Another family's information suggests that their ancestors boarded the Indian in Portsmouth. The vessel had originally sailed from London. I would be pleased to hear from anyone with information or an interest in the voyage.
