United Grand Lodge
of New South Wales
and the Australian Capital Territory
A lodge is the group of people who make it up. (It is often, wrongly, assumed that a lodge is the building or the place of meeting.)

Visitors
The next most important people are the visitors to the lodge. Freemasons know that visiting lodges is an important part of the spirit of fraternity that makes up Masonic life. Visitors are welcome at Lodge Caledonia of Canberra.
You may care to contact the Secretary before the meeting, however this is not strictly necessary.
One of our major public events is the celebration of Robert Burns birthday, 25th January. Our "Burns Night" is held on the 4th Thursday of January. In 2007, these two dates coincided.

To find the place of our meetings, come to the Canberra Masonic Centre (Bligh House), Bligh Street (corner of National Circuit), Barton, ACT -- off Kings Avenue); take the lift to the third floor.
See Google Maps link here
Additional parking is at the end of Bligh Street.
Our meetings begin at 7pm and visitors are admitted at around 7.30pm. We suggest that you be there by not later than 7.15pm and enjoy a snack and a drink provided. Please make yourself known to our member who attends to matters in the foyer.
Dress Code
Our meetings conform to the dress code of the UGL of NSW & ACT.
Accordingly, with our obvious Scottish (Caledonian) connections, brethren and visitors are welcome to wear Highland Dress at meetings.
However... You are advised that the Most Worshipful Grand Master, MWBro Tony Lauer, has declared that a Sgian Dugh (a small ceremonial knife worn in the stocking on the right leg), or a replica, is not to be worn with Scottish Highland Dress at Masonic meetings in this jurisdiction. Brethren with questions on this matter should address them c/o the Grand Secretary, info@uglnsw.freemasonry.org.au
