Description NGC 6445 is reasonably prominent at magnitude 11.2 and closely adjacent to the globular cluster NGC 6440. It is a bipolar planetary nebula with much filamentary structure. The apparent dimensions are given as .53 x .53 arcminutes although the filaments extend out much further to about 1.8 arcminutes. The distance is estimated to be slightly more than 1000 parsecs.
