augmented by hydrogen alpha to
bring out the emission
nebulosity). Luminance was 70
minutes (unbinned), Red = Green
= Blue = 50 minutes, Hydrogen
Alpha = 90 minutes (all binned
2x2)

Description |
The
Trifid nebula needs no
introduction as it is one of the
most popular deep sky objects.
It is a near neighbor in the sky
to the Lagoon Nebula (M8). The
Trifid structure is visible in
small telescopes. The distance
is about 4100 light years and
the nebula is about 28 arcmins
across.
