Description |
The
Horsehead is probably the best
known dark nebula in the sky and
a traditional observing
challenge. There is a huge
amount of very faint emission
nebulosity in this field.
The band of emission nebulosity
in which the horsehead is
embedded is IC 434. The
dark laned nebulosity above and
to the left of Zeta Orionis is
NGC 2024 and the reflection
nebula above the horsehead is IC
