Exposure Details This is a LRGB image with unbinned Luminance = 280 minutes and Red = 90 minutes, Green = Blue = 75 minutes binned 2x2. Astrodon filters were used.  
Description NGC 3256 is a peculiar galaxy formed by the merger of two other galaxies. The central part has a double nucleus and a set of complex dust lanes. Other signs of the collision are readily apparent with prominent tidal tails visible. The apparent magnitude is 11.3 and the angular size is 3.8' x 2.1'. NGC 3256 is part of the Hydra Centaurus super cluster complex. The galaxy at the top right is NGC 3256c
