| Description |
This
huge emission nebula surrounding
the unstable star Eta Carina
(below centre) is easily visible
to the naked eye. Recent
evidence indicates that Eta
Carina will become a supernova
in the very near future.
Eta Carina is at the heart of a
strange little nebula called the
Homunculus (little man)
indications of which can be seen
in this image.
