galaxy is about 20' x 1.5' and
magnitude 8.4. Being at
low galactic latitude it is
subject to about 1 magnitude of
stellar absorption, hence the
reddish colour. It is a
member of the galaxy group that
includes NGC 5128 (Centaurus A)
and M83
