east-timor focuses on news distributing items from a wide range of sources, including East Timorese groups, ETAN/US, TAPOL, and other support groups. Reports and translations from wire services and the East Timorese, Indonesian, Portuguese, Australian, British, U.S. and Irish press also regularly appear there, as well as official documents and statements from the U.N., national governments, and other sources. (East-timor began as a list server echo of a conference (newsgroup) called reg.easttimor and is sometimes known by that name.)

ASIET NetNews is English language news digest on the fight for democracy in Indonesia and the East Timorese people's struggle to rebuild their country. It also reports on the struggles for self-determination in Aceh and West Papua. It is compiled weekly by the Australian solidarity organisation Action in Solidarity with Indeonsia and East Timor and distributed free via e-mail.

This email list grew out of the Conference on Sustainable Development held in Dili, in January 2001, and is part of the ongoing efforts of the 'Taskforce on Sustainable Development in East Timor', based at the Research Centre, at the University of Timor Loro S’ae, Dili, East Timor. This email list is hosted and moderated by the Northern Territory University, Darwin, Australia. Updates of the progress of the 'Task Force on Sustainable Development' will be posted to this list.
