Source:# 1213 Albert LANCASTER born at Pola Ck. Macleay River NSW 5.11.1866, working at a Bank in Sydney when Boer War broke out and travelled to Brisbane to enlist. Family sources say he enlisted in the first Qld Contingent but no evidence found. His son holds Albert's Queen's South Africa Medal with 3 clasps (Tvl. OFS & CC) which is engraved '306 Pte AJ Lancaster Queensland IB', died 19.10.1947 and is buried in Frederickton NSW cemetery.
URL2: LANCASTFR Albert John died 19.10.1947 at his residence Kempsey NSW, beloved husband of Lydia and loving father of Olive (Mrs CW Pickering Maroubra) Linda Leo Edna George Arthur John and Clifford, aged 80 years, Boer War veteran.
