B and C squadrons have gone ahead of us, and have had two scrapes with the enemy, one at Rustenburg. We had two men killed and several wounded, one being Captain MACHATTIE. We have, however, done good work disarming, and are keeping the lines of communication open between Mafeking and Rustenburg.

The complimentary smoke concert tendered by the citizens of Bathurst to the returned soldiers in the School of Arts last night [11.6.1902] was a pronounced success. ...
