Source:# 1266 John MARMONT, born 13.3.1864 at 'Highfield' Taralga (Registered 8448 Goulburn NSW), married 21.5.1906 in Goulburn and died there on 6.8.1936. In his younger days he worked around Taralga, went gold prospecting in WA goldfields with his older brother Thomas, and travelled extensively working throughout Queensland where he enlisted lowering his age by almost 2οΎ½ years.
