This soldier was dangerously wounded at Goedgeoven in the war in South Africa,, by being shot through the head, and though he has spent fifteen mouths in the hospital, he has not yet fully recovered. The Patriotic Fund made him the maximum grant, which will be paid at the rate of £5 per month, and MCCABE will also draw a pension from the Imperial authorities. URL5: Two days later, serious skirmishing recommenced, and continued as far as the Slangappe Mountains, where Lieutenant HALSE was badly wounded in the breast, and Privates MCCABE and STRONG in the head and arm respectively. This was on the way to Utrecht, where for three days supplies were taken in.
