URL4: An enthusiastic meeting was held on Monday night [9.6.1902] at the Mechanics Hall Germanton NSW [now Holbrook], to welcome home from South Africa Troopers HAMILTON and ?CLUTTON of the Third Imperial Bushmen. It has been decided to erect a monument in Germanton Park to the memory of A RICHARDS, of Cookardinia NSW, the only representative of the district killed at the war.
URL6: GERMANTON, Tuesday [10.6.1902]. A smoke social was tendered to Troopers HAMILTON and CLUTTON yesterday, Mr J STEWART presided. It was decided to erect a monument in the local park in memory of the late Trooper Alfred RICHARDS, who was killed in action.
URL6: Private A RICHARDS, of the Third New South Wales Mounted Infantry, has been killed at Paardekraal. In the same engagement Private P DEAN, of the same corps, was slightly wounded.
URL7: AUSTRALIAN CASUALTIES. LONDON, 12th February. The War Office reports Sergeant Harry Stewart ROBINSON of the Seventh New Zealanders, slightly wounded in action at Omdraaihoeck; Privates A RICHARD, Third New South Wales, killed at Paardekraal; and Private P DEAN, Third New South Wales, slightly wounded. Private L WALSH, Sixth New Zealanders, died of enteric fever at Waakerstroom; Private Egbert DAWSON; Sixth New Zealanders, died of enteric at Charlestown.
