Source:# 1361 born in Hobart Tas, family story about her war service indicated she was decorated for saving the life of a senior officer, having refused to take the advice of the doctor who was present, and if the legend is to be believed, locked the doctor away in order to prevent him cutting off the officer's leg.

Apology: For some time now it has been difficult to keep up with the newly available sources (especially the Trove newspaper site) plus the flow of contributions and queries. So I have been forced to prioritise maintenance and data entry over replying to correspondence.
