for six years. He served in South Africa with the sixth Queensland Imperial Bushmen, and will be presented with the long service and good conduct medal. URL5: A roll of the names of warrant and non-commissioned officers of the [Sixth] contingent who had been recommended to receive pipes presented by Her Majesty Queen Alexandra was read out by the Premier, as follows - Regimental-Sergeant-major FH TRASK, Quartermaster-sergeant Thomas Paul VOLKMAN, Company-sergeant-major SPREADBOROUGH, Company-sergeant-major D WAUGH, Company-sergeant-major A JONES, Company-quartermaster-sergeant RA WHIPHAM, Company-quartermaster-sergeant TH DOYLE, Company-quartermaster-sergeant RL RENWICK, Sergeant William EDWARDS, Corporal D SHEEHAN, Corporpl JC NISBETT, Corporal J DURHAM, Corporal CJ CULLEN. Five of them being present - namely, VOLKMAN, SPREADBOROUGH, WHIPHAM, DOYLE and RENWICK, their pipes were presented to them by the Premier. URL6: At the request of the Mayor, the Premier then presented to several non-commissioned officers the pipes which had been sent to South Africa by her Majesty the Queen for presentation to the soldiers. The recipients, he explained, had been selected by their officers on account of their good behaviour, and of the general excellence of their work. The pipes were of the GBD brand, mounted with a silver band, on which was engraved the Queen's monogram. The presentations were made to the following - Sergeant-major FH TRASH, Sergeants VOLKMANN, AJ SPREADBOROUGH, RA WHIPPAM, TH DOYLE and RL RENWICK. Source:# 1578 TRASK, Frederick Henry. Died 2.2.1928 Brunswick, Vic. URL7: Lieutenant-Colonel FH TRASK DCM died at his home, Davis-street, Brunswick, yesterday morning after four months' illness. He was born in England, and with the Somersetshire Light Infantry Regiment saw service in the Boer War. He gained the Distinguished Conduct Medal, the King's' and Queen's South African Medals with five clasps and th Meritorious Service Medal, and
was mentioned in despatches three times. He has left a widow and two sons. The interment will take place at Fawkner cemetery this afternoon, preceded by a
service at St. Augustine's Church of. England, Moreland.
