A meeting of tbe friends of Private P WICKERSON, who has lately returned from South Africa, was held at Tattersalls Hotel on Thursday evening last [11.4.1901]. Ald. SOLOMONS occupied the chair, and explained that the object of the meeting was to make a presentation to Private WICKERSON in recognition of his services at the front. £6 or £7 had already been collected for that purpose. The following committee were appointed to attend to the matter - The Mayor, Alds. SOLOMONS and KIRKWOOD and Messrs. KEARNEY, BONNAR, RAFFERTY and DALE. It is proposed to circulate subscription lists, the returns to be in the hands of the treasurer (Ald. SOLOMONS) within a fortnight. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
