Nothwithstanding the inclemency of the weather a large number of district residents and visitors attended the "In Memoriam" service held in the Castle Creek Hall on Tuesday evening [27.8.1901] in connection with the death of Pte. John CHARLTON, in South Africa. The hall was draped in black, relieved by beautifully designed wreaths, etc., in white flowers.
