URL4: On Thursday evening [13.2.1902] a social was held in connection with C Company, First Regiment, 1st Battalion Infantry, at the Warrant and Non-commissioned Officers' Club room, Parade Ground. Captain FM BLAIR presided. He asked Lieutenant-Colonel GENDERS to present tokens of esteem, on behalf of the company, to Lieutenant DOLLMAN, who had been promoted to the command of D Company, First Regiment Infantry, and to Bugler HIGGS and Trooper CAIRE, who had been selected members of the South Australian unit of the First Federal Contingent. (Cheers.) ... Bugler HIGGS and Trooper CAIRE received handsome cigarette cases, and briefly acknowledged the gifts.
