Exposure Details LRGB with special purpose Astrodon infrared filters. L is "infrared luminance" which excludes anything less than 700nm.  Red is assigned to a band peaking at about 850nm, Green peaking at about 830nm and Blue at 750nm.  Exposure times were L = 75 minutes (unbinned) and R = G = B = 50 minutes (binned 2x2)
Description The Trifid nebula is one of the best known deep sky objects in the sky.  This near infrared image shows many stars that are obscured in visible light shots and also indications of other structures.
