Description |
RCW
71 is a small faint emission
nebula behind the Coalsack in
the southern cross and appears
strongly reddened because of
this. It's about 2
arcminutes across and is excited
by the 11th magnitude star
HD311999. The RCW
catalogue was prepared by
Rogers, Campbell and Whiteoak
under the direction of Bart Bok
in 1960
