NGC
1261 is a globular cluster in
Horologium that isn't imaged
very often. It was discovered by
James Dunlop in 1826. The visual
magnitude is 8.63 and the
distance is 53,500 light years.
The apparent angular size is
12.9' making it fairly
prominent. Several background
galaxies are present.
