Description |
NGC
5617 is a fairly prominent open
cluster only about 1
degree from Alpha Centauri. It
is about 5,770 light years
distant, has a visual magnitude
of 6.3 and an angular diameter
of 10 arcminutes. Also visible
in the lower left corner is the
more distant cluster Pismis 19.
