Exposure Details HaOIIIOIII image with synthetic green channel.  Five hours Hydrogen Alpha and six hours Oxygen III with 3nm Astrodon filters.
Description This planetary nebula somewhat resembles the dumb bell nebula (M27) but is smaller and fainter.

It is 70 x 50 arcsec in size and listed as magnitude 12.5.  NGC 5844 is surrounded by a faint halo, roughly 4.5 arcmin in size that was discovered in 1998.  It is faintly visible in this image.
