| Exposure Details | LRGB = 80:70:70:70 All binned 1x1 with Astrodon NIR filters. Red is assigned to a band peaking at about 850nm, Green peaking at about 830nm and Blue at 750nm. The luminance is "visible blocked" with zero response shorter than 700nm. |
| Description | NGC 6380 is a highly obscured globular cluster in southern Scorpius and most visible images of it just show a faint smudge with not many surrounding stars. This near infrared image brings out a lot more stars that are blocked in the visible by obscuring dust. |
