Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the choir and OTHERS, Please may it be known......
Tuesday 25th May, at 7.30pm, ANU Meetings Room. This rehearsal will be devoted to basic techniques of singing and musicianship. We will probably be having a visiting expert on these matters. So to those members who felt baffled by their first encounter with SCUNA, here is your chance to learn something more about counting and voice production (etc & etc) to help your confidence. So take heart and come along, especially if you didn't make it to sing in the last concert. We will be starting something new for second term and would love to see you're back (not to mention your front!!!).
A PLEA (desperate, pleading---almost begging, but not yet ordering). Can you all try and be punctual to rehearsals. Second term being a new leaf and all that, I don't want to have to keep harping on the subject.
There is talk of a concert this term and/or recording session in which we would be singing some works by Ralph Vaugn Williams. However, more of that anon.2
Also a possibility as yet not firmly decided. This would probably take place towards the end of second term. (some singing may be involved!)
Do you think coffee after rehearsals is a good idea? Please provide some feedback. (this was Alison's pun!!) Please also bring yourself a mug that can be kept in "Urnest" (our urn sillies) in the Union. The position of tealady is also vacant: this is not an onerous job, any mug can do it; please see Annabel? If we continue having coffee after rehearsals this is a further reason for starting rehearsals ON TIME (7.30pm) and having a set break (please don't dawdle)...otherwise the evening becomes too long.

Please give some thought to which course you might host...(for the uninitiated---a progressive dinner is a moveable feast, where a different course is provided at a different location...if you are clever a meal started at 5.30 or 6pm can be spun out to at least 2am!!! Members of the Society who participated last year will be only too glad to reminisce about one of THE events of last year (for further info on the thrill of it all see my secretary).
An idea suggested....further ideas, re theme, reason, (who really needs a reason for a party??) and venue may be surreptitiously dropped into the ear of your ever willing President.
[Handwritten] *Copies of the SCUNA CONSTITUTION NOW AVAILABLE!
My thanks to those who helped with various things associated with the concert--particularly to the Concert Manager and the host of the post concert party.
Owing to Grant's imminent departure to the wilds of Baradine the post of Concert Manager is vacant. This is a vital job within the Society and expressions of interest will be gratefully received.
Thankyou to those hardy souls who answered the call and fronted up for the ABC recording session of the 4th May. Our coffers will be some $60 the healthier and all your Mummys and Daddys may get to hear you on aunty ABC!!
Talking of coffers---subscriptions and camp fees and AGM (1975) monies are now DUE...see Fiona on the 25th.
With that thought I love you and leave you,
ALISON
