April
"Problem solving"
The aim of this seminar was to improve our problem solving skills ... How to develop our ability to cope with errors and enhance our creativity via the use of GS formulations. We also did a little "time-binding" from other disciplines.

May
"Personal Relationships" -
The aim of this seminar was to improve our personal, work and social relationships by reducing the number of useless arguments and over heated debates that may damaged these relationships. This was accomplished via training in the use of several GS formulations.

June
"Ethics"
"So act as to make thyself a better time-binder, so act as to enable others to use their time-binding capabilities more effectively." (Weinberg). Is this the "Golden Rule" of general-semantics? We considered some issues at the personal, community and global level. If this doesn't matter, then what does?

August
"Personality"
Nature or Nurture, Jung or Freud, Aristotle or Korzybski, dichotomy or continuum - How can we possibly comprehend the human condition? Should every word in this sentence be in quotes? Does general-semantics lead us to valuable insights?

*** Read All About It ***

September
"Application of correct symbolism to fact: Using language to maximise predicability, communication and problem solving."
Our language represents what is going on inside and outside ourselves. Our degree of "success" in life depends largely on how accurately our language represents this external and internal activity. This seminar introduced us to this topic and aimed to provide us with some skills that will enhance our use of language.
