Mixed media artist's book
by Bryan Kilgallin

Mixed media is a type of visual art that merges various materials and techniques to create a single piece. Examples include collages, sculptures, and assemblages. Artists create assemblages by combining objects and materials. The unified composition transforms elements into a visual statement.

My artist's book

The photo above showcases my artist's book. It reflects my art class theme. This type of artwork is presented in the format of a book. In this instance, I created a sculpture roughly resembling one.
This project was inspired by my photograph. I had taken it on Mount Gingera. It depicted a stunted snow gum sprouting from a rocky outcrop.
I constructed the artwork on a deep edge canvas. Whose thick bars and deep frame transformed it into a three-dimensional object. I integrated both flat and solid elements. That was to convey the scene.
