William's father was John Craine who was born in Ballaugh c 1808 according to his marriage certificate.
On 13th November 1833 he married Anne Kewish in Ballaugh.
He died in 1862 at Broughjiarg, Ballaugh, IOM and is buried in the Ballaugh cemetery.
The 1851 census has him living at 32 Squeen and suggests his birth year was 1805

John Craine (who died at Squeen in 1855) and
Ellinor Mylecharane who were married 25 December 1803. John's birth year was given as 1778

It is not clear who were the parents of John b abt 1778 parents. Was he:-

1.John Craine bap 4 December 1774 Ballaugh  to John Craine and Margaret Corlett m. 4 May 1771

2. John Craine bap 29 Dec 1771 Kirk German, to and Margaret Killey m. 12 Feb 1771

It has always been believed by the family that the next line back in the Craine ancestry was William Craine and Averick Corlett as they had a son John who was baptised on 20 July 1743 
BUT according to the IGI he married Catherine Corlett in Ballaugh 10 Dec 1768
