URL3: This morning, [28.7.1902] at 9 o'clock, the C Squadron of the [8th] ACH landed in Hobart [from the Manchester Merchant] after having barely had time to reach South Africa, stretch their legs, and return, because, fortunately before they had landed peace was all but concluded, and there was no occasion for any active service against the enemy. ... The squadron numbered 97, made up as follows - Captain (OGILVY), one warrant officer, four non-coms., one bugler, four corporals and 80 privates. Lieutenant KEMSLEY was discharged at his own request in South Africa, and Lieutenants CRUICKSHANK, STEVENS and some of the other men are returning by other transports. The squadron when it left here was made up of 121 men all told.
