URL2: A pleasant evening was spent on Thursday night [27.2.1901] at the residence of Mr and Mrs. LAPWORTH, Balaclava Street, the occasion being a send-off to their son, Trooper AJ LAPWORTH, of the Fifth Contingent. The evening was passed in social chat, patriotic songs, &c. After supper the toasts of "The King," "The Guest of the Evening," "Returned Comrades," &c. were given, and suitably responded to. The assemblage broke up at a late hour after singing the National Anthem.
