URL2: The transport Norfolk, one of the neatest, cleanest, and best of the boats that have been engaged in conveying troops to and from South Africa, came to anchor off Largs Ray late on Wednesday night [30.7.1902]. PCM ECKERSLEY, RL SINCLAIR, WMA GORDON, EV VIVIAN, Shoeing-Smith W WRIGHT, Shoeing-Smith TG WILLIAMS, Trooper HE MCFARLANE.
URL3: KAPUNDA, February 6 [1902]. The men mentioned below passed all tests and examinations for the eighth contingent. Col. FERGUSON had charge of proceedings. Sgt.-Mjr. ANDERSON put them through their riding and shooting tests after they had passed the strict medical examination by Dr. E McM. GLYNN. Nearly as many failed to pass the medical officer or shooting tests, or were too young to be taken. Fifteen men will go into camp in the city right away. They are - JH KELLY (26), KC RICHARDSON (21), J BRYANT (21), JF STEVENS (21), WJ CALLAGHAN (22), F CAREY (38), all of Kapunda; AJ DREYTON (27), AEF BIDGOOD (21), Saddleworth; HR BAIRD (22), of Gawler; S HOOD (20), NWG WACHTEL (20), TH LUDLOW (26), of Angaston; J SHANAHAN (32), PCW ECKERSLEY (20), ?O FREELING and A KING (29), of Manoora.
