URL1: sailed from Port Natal for Albany 5.4.1902 aboard the 'Manchester Merchant'.
URL3: ?Lieutenant RR OGG was a passenger by the steamer Oswestry Grange, which left Sydney last week [c7.1902] for Durban and Capetown.
URL4: On the same day [1.5.1902] the transport Manchester Merchant arrived in the harbour and anchored off Garden Island. She had on board 16 NSW men, who had served in different South African irregular forces, and half a dozen Queensland Imperial Bushmen, in charge of Lieutenant OGG, as well as Sergeant A MILLER and four privates of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Captain THOMAS met these soldiers, and had them conveyed to Circular Quay in a Government launch by 9 am. Passages were arranged for the Queenslanders in the steamer Rockton.

URL7: OBITUARY - CAPTAIN GR OGG. With much regret is recorded the decease of Captain George Rusden OGG, for some years a familiar figure in the professional and commercial circles of Cairns and district. Captain OGG saw active service in the South African campaign, and was always an ardent unit in connection with Empire Defence matters. For a period he was secretary to the Cairns Fire Brigade Board. Of recent years he conducted a produce brokerage and business agency in Shields Street. His mortal remains were interred yesterday [9.4.1931 afternoon, in the Martyn Street cemetery. Prior to the cortege moving off Rev. RH REID BA, conducted a service at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church and also officiated at the graveside. The Masonic Fraternity and the Returned Sailors and Soldiers' Association of Australia were represented at the funeral. "The Last Post" was sounded by Mr. SIMS (RSSILA). There were many floral tributes.
