Africa who served as BLAIR James with 3QMI, born 1871 in Melbourne Vic. and enlisted from Mt. Morgan Qld., brother in Mareeba Qld., wounded in left arm and horse killed near Elando R., had surgery on veldt by Col. Doctor IY Hospital then transferred by ox-wagon to hospital in No2 Staats Model School Pretoria for another operation, transferred over some weeks by hospital train to Woodstock Hospital, offered evacuation to Netley Eng. but chose Brisbane Qld.
