Source:# 1095 born in Toowoomba Qld. in 1877 and died in Bundaberg in 1956, family believes he had a metal plate in his head as a result of a war wound, served with Volunteer Rifles in Toowoomba in 1897 then with 4QIB until invalided home arriving 20.6.1901, re-enlisted and returned to S. Africa with 6QIB, in WW1 enlisted in DCoy. 9Bn. AIF in 1914 returning to Aust. 7.1.1915.
URL2: WW1 AIF 492 9Bn., a labourer aged 35 in 1914 born in Toowoomba Qld., next of kin wife in Toowoomba, previous service in 4QIB & 6QIB, hospitalised on Gallipoli then invalided from Mudros to Eng. 31.8.1915 suffering debility and rheumatism, embarked for Aust. on 'Runic' 7.11.1915 for discharge medically unfit, 1934 & 1942 correspondence from Bundaberg Qld., died 8.6.1956.
