This officer, who was born on the Manning River in 1870, obtained his first commission in the 1st Regiment as lieutenant in the Young Company in 1892. In 1898 he was transferred to K Company, and in 19OO was promoted captain He has passed the Infantry School of Instruction and also the course on military engineering.
