Murray: Corporal, accidental gunshot wound at Mafeking.

URL3: Cpl. CK UNWIN 3rd Maxim 1QMI invalided to Sydney per Sophocles 11.12.1900.
URL4: Private HCG WEISE, of West Ipswich, was the first to be greeted [aboard the Sydney Mail train at Rosewood 12.12.1900] . Private WEISE, it will be remembered, was invalided after taking part in the Sunnyside engagement and the relief of Kimberley, and went to England, where he stayed for nine weeks. His friends will be pleased to hear that he is in prime health. From him it was learnt that the Queenslanders on the train were Troopers W BARRON (Toowoomba), N BARLEY (Brisbane), H BANF (Bellevue), and himself, all of the first contingent; Trooper W BERNETT (Brisbane), second contingent; Corporal CB UNWIN (Brisbane) and Sergeant Major DW TIMMS (Rockhampton), third contingent; Private A PLOWDEN (Townsville), JH GREENAWAY (Clermont), W NAYLOR (Texas), fourth contingent; Private G CLARKE who joined the fourth contingent at Brisbane and Private J CARBERRY, of Mount Morgan, who was in South Africa when the war broke out, and served in the force known as the Border Horse.
